Yannic Fletcher


Yannic is a committed and dependable IP Attorney and has garnered significant experience in
the field given the wide cross-section of clients and the various industries that she serves. She
is particularly skilled in navigating clients through the numerous new legal frameworks, given the
sweeping changes that have occurred in the Trade Mark, Patent and Designs landscapes in
recent years. Yannic can be relied on to provide up to date and pragmatic solution to clients’

Her practice focuses on a wide range of intellectual property issues, including trade mark
applications, clearance searches, renewals, oppositions, cancellation actions, preparing
assignments and trade mark licences, as well as providing advice on general trade mark law.
Yannic also handles the protection of industrial designs, patents and utility models and the
renewal and monitoring of same.

Yannic was admitted to practice in Jamaica in 2015 and joined the firm in 2018. Her first degree
was a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, from the Ivy League institution Brown
University. She then went on to study law at Durham University, a Russel Group University in
the United Kingdom where she obtained her LLB with honours. Her educational pursuits
continued with a diploma in Legal Practice from BPP Law School in London followed on by her
Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School (NMLS).
At NMLS, Yannic was the President of the Children’s Outreach Programme and was bestowed
the award for Community Service on graduation. She was also the recipient of the Karen Hugh
Sam Lee Memorial prize, awarded to students who were seen as good ambassadors of the
NMLS, having displayed good leadership qualities, honesty, integrity and probity.

Outside of championing IP rights, Yannic is a fitness enthusiast and takes interest in community
outreach geared towards underprivileged children.
