On May 1, 2020, the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO) issued a notice further extending time limits for IP matters in Jamaica.
JIPO has directed that all time limits expiring between March 18, 2020 and June 30, 2020 are now extended until Wednesday, July 1, 2020. The previous deadline was May 1, 2020 and so, in effect, 2 more months have been given to alleviate any non-compliance with deadlines or other possible adversities associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
We will continue to keep our clients and the IP community updated. We expect that JIPO will continue to take account of the effects of the pandemic on its global customers and the directives of the Government of Jamaica in making any further determinations.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to any one of our IP Attorneys with any questions.
